How to Survive the Great Obama Depression

Dear Fellow Conservative,

You know what really irritates me about liberals? (Besides the fact that they're spineless little girls in pretty dresses who can't play rough because it musses up their hair...)

They always think liberalism fixes the problem -- even when it was liberalism that caused the problem in the first place!

Case in point, the Financial Meltdown of 2008 (and counting). To hear liberals tell it, it all goes back to Ronald Reagan -- who with his seductive "B-actor" charm fooled America into thinking that by slashing taxes, regulation, and government spending we could unleash free enterprise and create a new wave of prosperity.

Sure, liberals concede, that seemed to work for, oh, the better part of three decades, but now we're paying the price for all that "greed." The solution? A return to the pre-Reagan policies of Jimmy Carter, LBJ, FDR... Speaking of which, what will victory look like in the "War on Poverty"? When are they going to produce an "exit strategy" from that quagmire?

Unfortunately, the facts -- as always when you're talking about liberal theories -- tell a different story. A story in which all the major villains, it turns out, have one thing in common: government.

That's right. From the "Community Reinvestment Act" that pressured banks into affirmative-action lending, to those "government-sponsored enterprises" Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- who bought up all the resulting subprime loans and repackaged them as "investment grade" securities -- the greasy thumb-prints of government were all over this fiasco from beginning to end.

But those, as I say, are facts. And facts have no place in the fantasy world of Democratic policy-makers. Nor does history -- true history, that is, as opposed to the public-school propaganda that teaches, for instance, that FDR's New Deal got us out of the Great Depression, when in reality it only deepened and prolonged it.

But the question remains: What can those of us in the fast-dwindling, Reality-Based Community do to survive financially as the Obamacrats prepare a "New New Deal" that threatens to outspend the original by about ten thousand to one?

Personally, I don't have a clue. But thank goodness I know of someone who does.

His name is Mark Skousen, Ph.D., editor of the investment newsletter Forecasts & Strategies -- and he just might be the smartest financial advisor working today.

And when he told his subscribers in 1995 that the NASDAQ would double, and then double again -- which is exactly what it did.


And when, just weeks before the NASDAQ collapsed in 2000, he warned his subscribers that tech stocks were dangerously overvalued.


And when, in 2006 -- more than two years before the financial meltdown -- he warned subscribers that "we clearly are headed for fiscal disaster," and showed them how to protect themselves.
What's Skousen's secret? I think it begins with understanding the real laws of economics -- not the warmed-over Marxism that passes for "new thinking" to Obama's media groupies.

And here's the best thing about Mark Skousen. He knows how to make you money no matter how bad things get in the financial markets and the economy overall.

(AKI) - Many militants were joining hundreds of thousands of residents fleeing the troubled northwestern Swat valley as the military eased a curfew late on Monday, informed sources told Adnkronos International (AKI). It was the last chance for the local population to leave their homes and head for safer areas ahead of an expected escalation of military operations against the Taliban, the sources said.
“Most of the militants are on the run. Those left are heavily under siege by the security forces but they are hiding in the population and that’s why security forces relaxed the curfew hours from 6 pm to 10 pm," a senior security officer told AKI, speaking on condition of anonymity.
"So that people would evacuate the areas and shift their families to the safer places so that military would carry out its operations without the fear of any collateral damage,” the source added.
In Peshawar, the commissioner for the Afghan refugee camp Syed Jamaluddin Shah told the reporters that three new camps would be established in Noshera and Charsada in the surrounding North West Frontier Province region which would have the capacity to provide shelter to at least 4,000 displaced families.
The military says it killed 200 militants in and near the Swat valley over the weekend. The army has deployed up to 15,000 troops to route [sic] some 500 militants fighting for the imposition of Islamic law in the Swat valley and neighbouring districts....
If the Taliban is faring as poorly as Pakistan reports, can offers of a "truce" and "negotiations" be far behind? At that point, we'll see if they learned anything in Islamabad since the initial truce in 2006.

Abul Kasem, let’s begin with you. In a recent interview we did together, you shed light on how Muslims exploit our own policy of multiculturalism to destroy our multiculturalism. In other words, they use our tolerance to destroy our tolerance. You call this “Islamic Multiculturalism.”


Let’s start with these questions: Is there any way we can stop it? And how can we achieve this as a free society?


Kasem: Surprisingly, it will not be that difficult to defeat the agenda of Islamists to plant the root of Islamic Multiculturalism in a free and democratic society. All that is needed is a good (or working) knowledge of Islam, its history of propagation through violence and terror, and its adoption of taqiyya and kitman when the going is tough.


Once non-Islamic the policy makers comprehend what Islam is about, it is quite straight forward to defeat it in its own game. In our interview, as well as in many of my other interviews, I have indicated a few methods to contain the rapid ingress of Islamic Multiculturalism,


Here are a few specific steps that the un-Islamic world might adopt to stop this menace:


[1] Adopt tough policies on the entry of Islamists to non-Islamic countries. However, we must make a distinction between the large number of in-name-only Muslims and the diehard, jihad-infused, conniving, pan-Islamists.


[2] Enforce strict restrictions on the construction of mosques and Islamic seminaries. If this sounds unethical/ and or infringing on the religious rights, please note the non-existence and disallowance of construction of non-Islamic worshipping centres in Islamic Paradises. We must call spade a spade.


[3] Stop paying jizya to the Islamists. Do not accede to any unreasonable demands solely by the Islamists. Keep other religious people in mind. Why must Islam be treated more favourably than other religions? Ask the Islamists this simple question.


[4] Halt the interfaith dialogue with Islam. Remember, Islam is uncompromising. There is no way Islam will accommodate un-Islam. Please read this sentence one more time and memorize. You will save a lot of time and money wasted to please Islam. We do not have to please Islam.


[5] Assert the un-Islamic (non-Islamic) cultures, traditions, customs and ethos. We must let the Islamic world learn a bit that the world is not prepared to accept its 7th century Arab Bedouin customs and laws.


[6] Reject any demand to impose Sharia in a non-Islamic society; even if it is in the pretence for Muslims only. Remember, Muslims are the first victims of Islam.


[7] Muslims migrating to non-Islamic countries must sign a declaration that they do not believe in pan-Islamism. If found contravening their signed declaration they should be stripped of their citizenship and promptly deported to the Islamic Paradise they had migrated from.


[8] Proselytizing by Islamic dawa must be strictly controlled, and if necessary, banned. If you think I am being unreasonable. Please look at the laws of Islamic Paradises (such as Malaysia, Pakistan, Sudan, Nigeria…) with regard to the propagation of other faith among the Muslims.


Once the civilized world adopts the above measures, we shall see how quickly Islamic Multiculturalism vanishes from the non-Islamic world.

Who Is Imam Mahdi?
“According to the Shiite version of Islam the 12th descendant of Mohammed, known as the 12th Imam or the Mahdi, (Also known as the "Hidden Imam”) went into hiding in 941, some 1300 years ago. At an earlier time of rising tensions, the 10th imam was forced from his home in Medina by the powerful Sunni caliph in Baghdad and was sent to live in Samarra, where he could be kept under closer supervision. Both he and his son were believed to have been poisoned by the caliphate. Fearing such persecution, Muhammad al-Mahdi, who was just a child when he became the 12th imam. Then he is said to have gone into what Shiites call occultation, a kind of suspended state from which it is believed he will return. Shiites believe he will reappear when the world has become full of oppression and tyranny. They believe that he is hidden in the Jamkaran well in Iran, which is a place of pilgrimage for believers who drop their requests for help into the well in the hope that the Imam will read them and come to their aid”.

The February 22nd bombing of Shiite Islam's holiest shrines, the Golden Mosque in the town of Samarra has sparked considerable retaliatory killing as, according to legend, the 12th Imam, was at the site of the shrine before he disappeared. (2 of the 12 imams revered by mainstream Shiites are buried there including the 11th imam, Hassan al-Askari).

“The core of the Shi'ite religious world view is the Hidden Imam, Muhammad al-Mahdi, "The Guided One." While the stories of the first eleven Imams are historical in nature, the history of the twelfth Imam is mystical and miraculous. Born in 868 AD / 255 AH, Abu'l-Kasim Muhammad (which is the name of the Prophet himself), and when Hasan al-Askari, the Eleventh Imam, died in 874 AD / 260 AH, the seven year old boy declared himself to be the Twelfth Imam and went into hiding. The Shi'ites believed that he hid himself in a cave below a mosque in Samarra; this cave is blocked by a gate which the Shi'ites call Bab-al Ghayba , or the "Gate of Occultation." This is one of the most sacred sites in Shi'a Islam, and the faithful gather here to pray for the return of the Twelfth Imam.

The central Shi'a doctrines revolving around the Hidden Imam are the doctrines of Occultation (Ghayba ) and Return (Raj'a) . The Doctrine of Occultation is simply the belief that God hid Muhammad al-Mahdi away from the eyes of men in order to preserve his life. God has miraculously kept him alive since the day he was hidden in 874 AD / 260 AH; eventually God will reveal al-Mahdi to the world and he will return to guide humanity.

The Occultation has two distinct stages, the Lesser Occultation and the Greater Occultation. In the Lesser Occultation, the Hidden Imam continued to communicate with humanity through representatives. Since the Imam was the spiritual guide or light to the rest of humanity, the Lesser Occultation only removed the Imam's body from the world, not his spiritual guidance. However, under the threat of orthodox Muslims, the Hidden Imam entered the period of Greater Occultation which is still continuing. In the Greater Occultation, the Imam is still the spiritual guide and light of the world with one exception: there is no longer any direct communication between humanity and the Imam. The Occultation, then, is a profound spiritual tragedy for the world. It means that the spiritual guide to the earth, the gift of God to humanity, which, throughout the ages has lived, breathed, and conversed with humanity, is out of reach. The Imam is the center of light in the world; the Occultation is the extinguishing of that light for the rest of humanity. The Shi'a world view, then, is profoundly tragic and nostalgic. The Shi'ite longs for a return to a time when spiritual truth walked among us, a time when human perfection stood as an icon for all humans to emulate.

The Hidden Imam, however, will eventually leave his Greater Occultation and appear (zuhur) to the world of humanity. This return is the most significant event in the future for the Shi'ite faithful and has thunderous eschatological consequences. This return will occur shortly before the Final Judgement and the end of history. Imam Mahdi will return at the head of the forces of righteousness and do battle with the forces of evil in one, final, apocalyptic battle. When evil has been defeated once and for all, the Imam Mahdi will rule the world for several years under a perfect government and bring about a perfect spirituality among the peoples of the world. After the Imam Mahdi has reigned for several years, Jesus Christ will return (raj'a), as will Husayn and others. It is the return of the dead that falls under the Doctrine of Return; the Mahdi will only appear to humanity”.(Richard Hooker)

“The Holy Prophet Muhammad(SAW) has prophesied about several events that will occur just before the advent of the day of judgment. Among these, Rasulullah(SAW) has foretold the advent of one of his descendants, Al Mahdi (the guided one), which will materialize when the believers are severely oppressed in every corner of the world. He will fight the oppressors, unite the Muslims, bring peace and justice to the world, rule over the Arabs, and lead a prayer in Mekkah at which Isa(pbuh) (Jesus) will be present”. (Source)

Note: “Please do not confuse Imam Mahdi with Hadhrat Isa (Jesus) Alayhis Salaam. They are two different persons, and both will come during the last days. According to Hadeeth, Imam Mahdi will appear first, and Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will appear during Imam Mahdi's lifetime. Furthermore, only Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will be able to kill Dajjal (the "anti-Christ")”. (Source)

The Following quotations are alleged by various people to have been made by Muhammed. [Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam)] and are considered to be authentic.

Hadhrat Abdullah bin Mas'ood (R.A.) said;

"This world will not come to an end until one person from my progeny does not rule over the Arabs, and his name will be the same as my name."

(Tirmidhi) Hadhrat Ali (R.A.) said;

"Even if only a day remains for Qiyamah to come, yet Allah will surely send a man from my family who will fill this world with such justice and fairness, just as it initially was filled with oppression." (Abu Dawood)

Abu Sa'id al-Khudari(RA) said;

Al Mahdi will be from my progeny. His forehead will be broad and his nose will be high. He will fill the world with justice and fairness at a time when the world will be filled with oppression. He will rule for seven years. (Emphasis Added)

Hadhrat Abu Saeed Khudri (R.A.) said,

"Al Mahdi will be from my progeny. His forehead will be broad and his nose will be high. He will fill the world with justice and fairness at a time when the world will be filled with oppression. He will rule for seven years." (Emphasis Added)

Abu Hurairah said:

"The shall not occur until the Euphrates will disclose a mountain of gold, over which people will fight. 99 out of every hundred shall die, and every one of them shall say, 'perchance I shall be the one to succeed" (Source)

There is apparently no consensus among Muslim scholars as to the authenticity of the following quote

Abu al-Hujaf(RA) quotes the Prophet(SAW) saying three times:

Listen to the good news about the Mahdi! He will rise at the time when people will be faced with severe conflict and the earth will be hit by a violent quake. He will fill the earth with justice and equity as it is filled with injustice and tyranny. He will fill the hearts of his followers with devotion and will spread justice everywhere. (Bihar al-anwar, Vol. 51, P. 74)

“While the people will be pledging their allegiance to Imaam Mahdi, a voice from the unseen will call out:

"This is the representative of Allah,

The Mahdi, listen to him and obey him"

This announcement which will be heard by all those present will establish his authenticity. Another sign which will indicate the authenticity of Imaam Mahdi wil be that in the Ramadhaan prior to his emergence an eclipse of the sun and moon will occur”. (Source)

His call for the destruction of Israel may have grabbed headlines abroad, but it is President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's devotion to a mystical religious figure that is arousing greater interest inside Iran.

In a keynote speech on Wednesday to senior clerics, Ahmadinejad spoke of his strong belief in the second coming of Shi'ite Muslims' "hidden" 12th Imam.

According to Shi'ite Muslim teaching, Abul-Qassem Mohammad, the 12th leader whom Shi'ites consider descended from the Prophet Mohammed, disappeared in 941 but will return at the end of time to lead an era of Islamic justice.

Our revolution's main mission is to pave the way for the reappearance of the 12th Imam, the Mahdi," Ahmadinejad said in the speech to Friday Prayers leaders from across the country.

"Therefore, Iran should become a powerful, developed and model Islamic society."

"Today, we should define our economic, cultural and political policies based on the policy of Imam Mahdi's return. We should avoid copying the West's policies and systems," he added, newspapers and local news agencies reported.

Ahmadinejad refers to the return of the 12th Imam, also known as the Mahdi, in almost all his major speeches since he took office in August.

A September address to the U.N. General Assembly contained long passages on the Mahdi which confused Western diplomats and irked those from Sunni Muslim countries who believe in a different line of succession from Mohammed.

This fascination has prompted wild stories to circulate.

Presidential aides have denied a popular rumor that he ordered his cabinet to write a letter to the 12th Imam and throw it down a well near the holy city of Qom where thousands of pilgrims come each week to pray and drop messages to the Imam.

But what really has tongues wagging is the possibility that Ahmadinejad's belief in the 12th Imam's return may be linked to the supposed growing influence of a secretive society devoted to the Mahdi which was banned in the early 1980s.

Founded in 1953 and used by the Shah of Iran to try to eradicate followers of the Bahai faith, the Hojjatieh Society is governed by the conviction that the 12th Imam's return will be hastened by the creation of chaos on earth…” (Source)



Waiting For the Rapture in Iran

“Among the true believers is Iran's hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who predicted with "no doubt" his June election victory, months in advance, at a time when polls gave him barely 1 percent support. The president also spoke of an aura that wreathed him throughout his controversial UN speech in September.

"O mighty Lord," Mr. Ahmadinejad intoned to his surprised audience, "I pray to you to hasten the emergence of your last repository, the promised one, that perfect and pure human being, the one that will fill this world with justice and peace."...

... “From redressing the gulf between rich and poor in Iran, to challenging the United States and Israel and enhancing Iran's power with nuclear programs, every issue is designed to lay the foundation for the Mahdi's return.”...

...” The Mahdi's eventual return is an article of faith for Shiite Muslims that taps deeply into Persian consciousness and mystical tradition. Signs began to appear in Tehran three years ago, announcing that "He's Coming." But only a portion of Iranians actively prepare for that moment.

Part of the tradition holds that the Jamkaran mosque was ordered built by the Mahdi himself, during a dream revealed to a "righteous man" some 1,000 years ago. It is here that believers are closest to the Mahdi. Written prayers dropped into the adjacent well (which, local guides point out has no religious basis) are thought by pilgrims to be divinely answered.

Officials deny rumors that Ahmadinejad, as mayor last year, secretly tasked the Tehran City Council with reconfiguring the capital to prepare a suitable route for the Mahdi's return. They also deny that a list of Ahmadinejad's new cabinet members has been dropped into the well - a superstition that even Ayatollah Khomeini, the father of Iran's revolution, refused to associate with”...

ad-Dajjal (Arabic: د?ج?ّ?ا?ل?) ("The Deceiver") is an evil figure in Islamic eschatology, who will appear before Yaum al-Qiyamah (Day of the Resurrection). He is the Antichrist, as viewed in Christianity.

Attributes

Various hadith, or traditions, are preserved about the attributes of ad-Dajjal like the following:

· He will be physically misshapen, and see everything only with his left eye. His right eye will be present but it will be dark (black) and he won't be able to see through it.

· He will ride a beast which can cross seas, fly over land, and crawl under Earth.

· He will be able to see and hear many things in many places.

· He will deceive the faithful, teaching them that Heaven is Hell and vice versa.

· He will have the power to work miracles in order to mislead believers.

· He will try to put Man on God's throne.

· He will have the Arabic letters kaf, fa and ra (kafir) -meaning unbeliever- branded on his forehead, but only Muslims will be able to see this.

· He will have the ability to revive the dead, and consequently claim to be God.

Some traditions of Islam relate that he will appear at Isfahan, and that he will rally the Isfahan Jews and many former Muslims and Christians to his support. His followers will have two reddish horns sprouting from their heads in time.

The occurrence of the Dajjal will correspond with the appearance of the Imam Mahdi, who will rally the faithful on earth to oppose him. Eventually, Isa (the name of Jesus in Arabic) will return from Heaven and slay the Dajjal. No one is advised to try to fight the Dajjal because the final killing will be done by Isa (Jesus). According to many interpretations this will occur near The Gate of Ludd (ancient city of Lydda)

War on terror???

It's not a War On Terror, it's an "Overseas Contingency Operation"
And it certainly isn't a defense action against the global jihad and Islamic supremacism.

Well, after sputtering and coughing for many years, the War On Terror appears to be finally over. It was always a silly thing, a war on a tactic of the enemy rather than on the enemy as such, but as we all know, the Global Jihad is The Enemy Who Cannot Be Named.

And so now we are engaged in a great Overseas Contingency Operation, testing whether that nation or any nation so conceived and so dedicated can long endure. And be assured: if the Overseas Contingency Operatives succeed in pulling off another Contingency Operation on American soil on the scale of 9/11, or more than one, we will indeed be sorely tested -- and utterly unprepared to meet the multifaceted cultural, military, political, and spiritual challenge the enemy presents.

The end of the Global War on Terror -- or at least the use of that phrase -- has been codified at the Pentagon. Reports that the phrase was being retired have been circulating for some time amongst senior administration officials, and this morning speechwriters and other staff were notified via this e-mail to use "Overseas Contingency Operation" instead.
"Recently, in a LtGen [John] Bergman, USMC, statement for the 25 March [congressional] hearing, OMB required that the following change be made before going to the Hill," Dave Riedel, of the Office of Security Review, wrote in an e-mail.

"OMB says: 'This Administration prefers to avoid using the term "Long War" or "Global War on Terror" [GWOT]. Please use "Overseas Contingency Operation.'"

Riedel asked recipients to "Please pass on to your speech writers and try to catch this change before the statements make it to OMB."


Not everyone thinks this is official, however:

An OMB spokesman took issue with the interpretation of OMB's wishes. "There was no memo, no guidance," said Kenneth Baer. "This is the opinion of a career civil servant."
Referring to the phrase "global war on terror," Baer said, "I have no reason to believe that would be stricken" from Hill testimony.


Bush officials tried to end the War On Terror years ago:

By way of history, senior Bush administration officials several years ago wanted to stop using the phrase and switch to something many felt might better reflect the realities of the fight against international terrorism.
One leading option was to change the name to GSAVE, or Global Struggle Against Violent Extremism. This was not as catchy an acronym as GWOT, but officials felt it more accurately described the battle.Then-Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld even used the GSAVE abbreviation publicly.

But, in a White House meeting, President Bush ruled that it was still a war for him, and Rumsfeld and everyone else went back to GWOT.

Protest Launched Against Facebook for Being Pro-Jihad, Anti-Israel
The David Horowitz Freedom Center is calling upon all supporters of freedom of speech and of Israel to join in its protest against Facebook, the Internet social networking site. Facebook has allowed a group of hackers who openly support the terrorist group Hizballah to take over and destroy what was once the largest pro-Israel site on Facebook. In a blunt act of internet censorship, Facebook added insult to injury by disabling the account of that site’s creator, 14-year-old Todd Snider.

Snider established the Facebook group called “I Wonder How Quickly I Can Find 1,000,000 People Who Support Israel,” in July 2008. By February 2009 it was Facebook’s largest pro-Israel site, with over 180,000 members.

But on February 15, 2009, Snider’s Facebook group was hacked and destroyed by a pro-Hizballah group calling itself “Lebanese Shee’a Hackers.” The hackers completely erased the original site content and replaced it with threatening, obscenity-laced pro-jihad, anti-Israel propaganda datelined Bint Jbeil, South Lebanon: “DEAR ADMINS, DON’T WASTE MY AND YOUR TIME , LEAVE THIS GROUP ITS BETTER FOR BOTH THIS IS THE LAST TIME ILL EDIT YOU INFO , NEXT TIME…”

Facebook allowed the hackers to destroy Snider’s site, answering his repeated entreaties for help with blandly evasive form letters.

And now, after the appearance on March 6 of an article about the incident in FrontPageMagazine.com (“Facebook Jihad” by Robert Spencer), Facebook has taken the additional step of disabling Snider’s account altogether, capitulating to the jihadi hackers and accusing Snider himself of “misusing” Facebook’s “features.”

Facebook’s outrageous action is not only an assault on free speech and internet freedom and a breach of its own social networking protocols, but also appeasement of a group of hackers who have invaded Facebook’s space and who openly avow their support for the jihad terrorist group Hizballah.

We therefore urge all Facebook members who oppose Islamist terror and internet censorship to contact the site administrators through the Facebook contact form, and all others to join us in protesting against Facebook’s outrageous behavior by writing to abuse@facebook.com.

The gruesome story below is more than just a brutal homicide. The Muslim leader who turned himself in and has been charged with murder beheaded his wife.

It will be interesting to see how much attention the news media pays to this story. It will be even more revealing to see if anyone in the media investigates why this Muslim leader chose beheading as a means to murder his wife.

Will the media look into what the Qur’an and Hadith say about beheading enemies? Will the media look into the relationship between honor killings, beheadings, and shariah law? Will the media investigate this man’s background, and how he worked to raise money in Saudi Arabia for his television station?

Or will political correctness trump investigative journalism?

Prominent Orchard Park man charged with beheading his wife

Orchard Park police are investigating a particularly gruesome killing, the beheading of a woman, after her husband — an influential member of the local Muslim community — reported her death to police Thursday.

Police identified the victim as Aasiya Z. Hassan, 37. Detectives have charged her husband, Muzzammil Hassan, 44, with second-degree murder.

"He came to the police station at 6:20 p.m. [Thursday] and told us that she was dead," Orchard Park Police Chief Andrew Benz said late this morning.

Muzzammil Hassan told police that his wife was at his business, Bridges TV, on Thorn Avenue in the village. Officers went to that location and discovered her body.

Muzzammil Hassan is the founder and chief executive officer of Bridges TV, which he launched in 2004, amid hopes that it would help portray Muslims in a more positive light.

The killing apparently occurred some time late Thursday afternoon. Detectives still are looking for the murder weapon.

"Obviously, this is the worst form of domestic violence possible," Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III said today.

Authorities say Aasiya Hassan recently had filed for divorce from her husband.

"She had an order of protection that had him out of the home as of Friday the 6th [of February]," Benz said.

Muzzammil Hassan was arraigned before Village Justice Deborah Chimes and sent to the Erie County Holding Center.

Obama's "New New Deal" -- and YOUR Money

Dear Fellow Conservative,

You know what really irritates me about liberals? (Besides the fact that they're spineless little girls in pretty dresses who can't play rough because it musses up their hair...)

They always think liberalism fixes the problem -- even when it was liberalism that caused the problem in the first place!

Case in point, the Financial Meltdown of 2008 (and counting). To hear liberals tell it, it all goes back to Ronald Reagan -- who with his seductive "B-actor" charm fooled America into thinking that by slashing taxes, regulation, and government spending we could unleash free enterprise and create a new wave of prosperity.

Sure, liberals concede, that seemed to work for, oh, the better part of three decades, but now we're paying the price for all that "greed." The solution? A return to the pre-Reagan policies of Jimmy Carter, LBJ, FDR... Speaking of which, what will victory look like in the "War on Poverty"? When are they going to produce an "exit strategy" from that quagmire?

Unfortunately, the facts -- as always when you're talking about liberal theories -- tell a different story. A story in which all the major villains, it turns out, have one thing in common: government.

That's right. From the "Community Reinvestment Act" that pressured banks into affirmative-action lending, to those "government-sponsored enterprises" Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- who bought up all the resulting subprime loans and repackaged them as "investment grade" securities -- the greasy thumb-prints of government were all over this fiasco from beginning to end.

But those, as I say, are facts. And facts have no place in the fantasy world of Democratic policy-makers. Nor does history -- true history, that is, as opposed to the public-school propaganda that teaches, for instance, that FDR's New Deal got us out of the Great Depression, when in reality it only deepened and prolonged it.

But the question remains: What can those of us in the fast-dwindling, Reality-Based Community do to survive financially as the Obamacrats prepare a "New New Deal" that threatens to outspend the original by about ten thousand to one?

Personally, I don't have a clue. But thank goodness I know of someone who does.

His name is Mark Skousen, Ph.D., editor of the investment newsletter Forecasts & Strategies -- and he just might be the smartest financial advisor working today.

Don't let that "Ph.D." fool you -- this is no pointy-headed leftist like Obama's economic team who seem to think that all the economy needs in order to flourish are more liberals running the economy.

And when he told his subscribers in 1995 that the NASDAQ would double, and then double again -- which is exactly what it did.


And when, just weeks before the NASDAQ collapsed in 2000, he warned his subscribers that tech stocks were dangerously overvalued.


And when, in 2006 -- more than two years before the financial meltdown -- he warned subscribers that "we clearly are headed for fiscal disaster," and showed them how to protect themselves.
What's Skousen's secret? I think it begins with understanding the real laws of economics -- not the warmed-over Marxism that passes for "new thinking" to Obama's media groupies.

And here's the best thing about Mark Skousen. He knows how to make you money no matter how bad things get in the financial markets and the economy overall.

After all, he points out, the late billionaire John Templeton -- whom Money magazine called "the greatest stock-picker of the 20th century" -- began to build his vast fortune in the depths of the Great Depression.

GLENN: But there's more because the secret is really truly in We the People.

Nobody is really talking about solutions. They are talking about Band-Aids. Let me just share with you just an analogy here with the Titanic. The Titanic is going down. Who cares about the ship. It's the people on board because the people can go and build another ship and it can be better and stronger and take the things that we learned from this ship, which we did, and build another better one. It's the people on board, not the ship. And the captain is woken up from a dead sleep and they say, "Captain, captain, we hit an iceberg." Now, somebody went down to look at the hole. They knew what it was and they came back up. And the captain said, "Can we seal it off." "No, captain, this is really bad." So what should the captain do? The captain immediately should say, "Head for the lifeboats."

The second thing you should do is basically what he has done. "Would you guys just play some music here so people don't freak out?" But he shouldn't say that until he said, "Can we patch the hole." "No, captain, we can't." "Is there anything we can do to slow the sinking down?" "Well, we could try this and this and this." "Good, try it. Slow it down." "But captain, you know it's going to sink anyway?" "Yes, I do. Slow it down." Why would the captain want to do that? Because he wants more people in the lifeboat because he knows it's not the ship. It's the people. Slow the sinking down.

I contend, and I have this from good authority that that is exactly what the idea was back in November. The ship is sinking. Slow it down. Get more people into the lifeboats. But people are in denial. This ship, they are the people that are still sitting in the bar at the Titanic. It's a Titanic! It's unsinkable! It will never sink. Those are the people -- don't be one of those people. Too many Americans are still sitting in that bar. Too many Americans are saying, "Oh, it's the Titanic, I'm not getting out -- it's cold outside. It's not going to sink. Until it's too late and then they're trapped. The problem is the captain, nobody believes the captain. They believe the captain has ulterior motives because the captain has been untrustworthy. And it's not Obama. It's Obama and it's been Bush and it's been the Treasury, the last one, this one, the Fed, the congress. Nobody's told us the truth. So we don't trust any of the crew members. So you've got to look for somebody in your life that you do trust and everybody's looking for somebody they trust. Be that person. The ship is sinking. Get people into a lifeboat. The nine principles are the first step, but in the next few minutes I'm going to lay out the second step and the third. Here's the second step. The nine principles can't stand by their own. Now, I have done -- somebody called me and asked me, "Glenn, where did you get the nine principles." They really came from me of just digesting the founding fathers. I went to religious text, I went to different faiths to look at what their theology taught, I read the words of the founding fathers, the 5,000 Year Leap, the Boy Scout handbook. I took all of this stuff and then I just sat with it for a while and I came up with the nine principles. But I also came up with values. Because if the point is We the People, if that's how this whole system was designed and if the ship is going down and it's not the ship, it's the people, if you really, truly believe in the people, well, then power to the people works both ways. The people also are responsible for the downfall. The people, not just the Fed, not just those greedy Wall Streeters, not just the heads of banks, not just the people in congress but each of us, to varying degrees each of us. Believe me, I don't know if you've been a long-term listener of this program but hopefully you've heard a change in my voice in the last six months and the last year and the last two years and anybody who's been listening since I started doing talk radio in 2000. There's a difference in my voice. Hopefully a little bit more responsible. I still am a stupid, you know, self-educated guy from time to time. I still say stupid things that I regret. I still say things in comedy that people take out of context, but I am not the guy who says the donkeys are bad and the elephants are good. I will say, "Here's a good donkey, here's a good elephant, here's a bad elephant, here's a bad donkey."
More importantly, it's not about the individuals, it's about the direction that they're taking us and the direction that we set for ourselves, and we can correct all of these problems if we have the nine principles and then the twelve values.

So here are the twelve values, and we'll go over these a little bit at a time, but the twelve values are honesty. The problem is we don't have any trust for one another anymore. Bernie Madoff, the banks, the politics, there's no honesty. We must mean what we say and say what we mean. As individuals, never let anyone -- make a vow today. You will never let anyone doubt your word. Believe me, it is going to take you a very long time to change that. I have been trying since 1996 and people still doubt my word from time to time if they don't know me. That's okay. I understand that. Mean what you say and say what you mean.

Reverence. Reverence. Why reverence? The lack of reverence causes a brashness, a coarseness, a noise in our society. Reverence has -- a lack of reverence has us watching the cakes and the circuses. Quick! Reverence to me means quiet, reflective, be still, listen, ponder. In our society we have not given any time to something that's extraordinarily important. Reverence. Silence. Ponder.

Hope. A lot of people say that I don't have a lot of hope. I do. The opposite of hope is death, destruction, despair, but hope is just a belief in the potential, just a belief in America's promise. But you have to know what that promise is. You have to know what America is. That goes back to the nine values -- the nine principles. Get the nine principles. You know who you are, you know what America. That's where your hope comes from. There will be a brighter tomorrow. It's what helps a single mom get up every day: Hope.

Thrift. We've become a disposable society, everything. How many times do your kids just have a toy and drop it? How many times have your kids said this to you? My kids have: Oh, well, I broke it; we'll get another one. I started saying about a year ago, "No, we won't. We'll fix it and if it can't be fixed, then we don't have another one." "What?" If we just understood thrift and life isn't disposable, how would we change our policies on life? How would we change our policies on the Earth? These are things that we could all agree on. Nobody wants the Earth to die. Nobody wants the Earth to be 1,000 degrees. Nobody wants that. Just thrift. Just understand that nothing is disposable, from people to things to the planet to the individual.

Humility. Opposite is an empire building, empire builder: "We're the empire! We're America!" Humility. It's the opposite of what we've learned from Wall Street. It's the opposite of what we have from Paris Hilton and the Prada purses, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. A humble society doesn't have a Prada purse with a little dog. They never say, "Well, we know better." If we're humble, we can find the real true us, flaws and all. We're willing to look at the "Us."

Charity, I think the opposite of charity is socialism. It's greed. But we've tried to force charity down. Charity is not socialism and socialism is not charity. Charity is about us as individuals. We care. We want to change our heart. Government's not charity. Charity's not patriotic. Pure charity is to be god-like. We lose our focus on ourself and worry about others.

Sincerity. Just live what you believe. Obama wants us to be more charitable. Joe Biden wants us to be more charitable. Joe Biden's never paid more than .8% of his income to charity. Obama just started to do it when he was running for president, and he's giving, what, 7% of his salary? Good for him. Now when nobody's watching Barack Obama, when you're long past the time that you were president, will you still be giving? I'm going to -- I'll say yes. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt that, yes, you'll still be giving. But that's what sincerity really truly is all about. Be sincere. Live what you believe.

The next one is moderation. Moderation. Moderation in everything is good. By the way, a lot of these came from George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. These are the things they looked at. This list like this they looked at every single day. Moderation. Benjamin Franklin said I'm not going to eat too much and I'm not going to drink too much. But really it's bigger than that. It's moderating our passions. You know, just moderate your passions. That's okay to do a little of everything. I'm an alcoholic. I can't do a little of things. So I don't do any of them. But moderate your passions. It's good to prepare for things. It would be bad for you to be living in a fallout shelter right now. But prepare. You do little things. You just stay aware. Moderation.

Hard work. I think we are being led right into a place, you know where the work ethic in America really changed was with the New Deal. Historians will tell you now that that was a pivot point in America. People worked hard. Well, you know what? If you're dependent -- the opposite of hard work is dependence. If you are dependent, you'll eventually be a slave. You lower your self-esteem. You limit your growth. But if you have hard work, you are growing, you're independent, you have self-worth. You know your own capabilities. You're honest about yourself on your limitations. You have long-term thinking. When you're working hard, you're working toward something. That gives you hope.

Courage. You don't have courage if you don't stand up, you'll look the hand that feeds you, said Patrick Henry. The opposite is cowering, panic, fear. It eventually leads to slavery. If you don't stand up, you'll lick the hand that feeds you. But where does courage come from? I think it's from living the principles and the values, honesty, hope, humility, belief in God, knowing who you are, knowing what you believe, knowing how it ends, knowing how it began. I know that people will think that I'm crazy and that's fine, but I think we're living in difficult times, and I have pondered, how does this end. I have only truly prayed for guidance and courage to do the things that he would want me to do, to say the things that he would want me to say and in the end to have the courage not to falter, to have the courage to know what the truth is because I can face anything, you can face anything if you know who you are and what's important.

Personal responsibility. Everybody wants to put the responsibility on the Democrats or the Republicans or as I did yesterday, the Fed. But you know what? Personal responsibility, did I take out too much, did I do too much, should I have done that. Own up to your own things because that's the only way you'll change things. It's okay if you make mistakes. Everybody makes mistakes. It humbles us, and if we're honest with each other and honest with ourselves, we become stronger.

And the last one is friendship. We all know what friendship is, but how many real friends do we have? We're researching out now in virtual friendships and everything else. We need to expand our circle of friendship. We need to start trusting one another again. We need to start seeing our neighbors again. We need to -- have you considered that if things melted down who your neighbors are? Do you trust them? Do they trust you? Can you count on each other? Our grandparents counted on each other. They counted on the neighbor. They would bring each other pies and they would share what they had. They would help each other. A lot of people would look at that, "Oh, my gosh, he was talking about, oh, it's going to break down so bad that it's going to be..." that's a good thing. As much as I hated that little street that I wrote about in my book The Christmas Sweater that my grandparents lived on, as much as I hated that when I was a kid, I'd give my right arm to live on that street again where everybody knew each other, everybody worked together. It was like a big family on that little street. While I don't have to move there, why aren't all of our streets like that now? In time I believe they're going to become those streets again and many will say that's a bad thing. Many will avoid it and they will stand in the bar there in the Titanic and you will just quietly be there to say, "Come on, into the boat. It's going to be okay." And then we will all go to shore, put our lives back in order and build a better boat.

The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama. Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer.
He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice law in Alabama!
The judge's poem sums it up quite well.

America the beautiful,or so you used to be.Land of the Pilgrims' pride;I'm glad they'll never see.

Babies piled in dumpsters,Abortion on demand,Oh, sweet land of liberty;your house is on the sand.

Our children wander aimlesslypoisoned by cocaine choosing to indulge their lusts,when God has said abstain.

From sea to shining sea,our Nation turns away From the teaching of God's love and a need to always pray

We've kept God in our temples,how callous we have grown. When earth is but His footstool,and Heaven is His throne.

We've voted in a government that's rotting at the core, Appointing Godless Judges;who throw reason out the door.

Too soft to place a killer in a well deserved tomb,But brave enough to kill a babybefore he leaves the womb.

You think that God's not angry, that our land's a moral slum? How much longer will He waitbefore His judgment comes?

How are we to face our God,from Whom we cannot hide? What then is left for us to do,but stem this evil tide?

If we who are His children,will humbly turn and pray;Seek His holy faceand mend our evil ways:

Then God will hear from Heaven;and forgive us of our sins,He'll heal our sickly landand those who live within.

But, America the Beautiful,If you don't - then you will see,A sad but Holy Godwithdraw His hand from Thee.
